The City of Pequot Lakes

Pequot Lakes is at the heart of the Lakes neighborhood, which is well-known for its many festivals that attract visitors to the region every year. With so much going on in Pequot Lakes, remodeling is a much better option to stay in the place you know and love.

This neighborhood hosts Stars & Stripes Days and Bean Hole Days, and Market in the Park. Paul Bunyan made his mark in this region. He rested his bobber on the Pequot Lakes water tower and would keep an eye on it as he kicked back and relaxed in his oversized chair. His trail, the Paul Bunyan State Trail, runs through the city of Pequot Lakes and runs north of Bemidji and south to Brainerd.

This community also is home to the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway – a nationally recognized scenic byway with 50 miles of paved, wide-shouldered county roads, meandering around the Whitefish Chain of Lakes. The region also is known for its destination shopping, with many unique stores offering myriad products to appeal to many tastes and interests.

On Thursdays during the summer in Pequot Lakes, shopping reaches another level with Market in the Park, a hybrid of a farmers market, craft fair and food fest, to complement the many stores in the community. But not only do the shoppers come out in summer as residents prepare themselves for the winter months by shopping here. From mittens to shovels to hot cocoa to fishing gear and everything in between, the stores and customer service is second to none.

Pequot Lakes is more family-centric than the surrounding county with 35.34% of the households containing married families with children. The county average for households married with children is 28.16%. With so many growing families in one area, room is going to be needed. You don’t have to move, however, to gain that room.
